i have an etrex venture (with serial rs232 port) however after setting the parameters in NMEA and clicking 'Navigate' I get the message

'Error Createfile on "com1' failed: Access is denied
Garmin: Can't init com1

I don't have anything else on com1.


I connect the etrex to hyperterminal and I can receive the sentences normally.

I have tried with another pc but same problem recurs with com4.
Please assist

Uhmmmm.....
Please send a screenshot of preferences NMEA page, error message that appears after preesing button "Navigate" and a screenshot of Hyperterminal while receiving NMEA sentences.
