OkMap Tutorial – First Startup and Quick Setup

In this tutorial, we show how to quickly configure OkMap Preferences at first startup by properly setting language, measurement units, working folders, and online services.
This procedure is essential to start using OkMap efficiently, especially for activities such as hiking, cycling, and GPS analysis.

Procedure:

  • Open Preferences
  • Set language and measurement units
  • Configure coordinates and home location
  • Define folders and formats for:
    • Maps
    • DEM (Digital Elevation Models)
    • GPX
  • Set parameters in Statistics (activity and weights)
  • Configure Geocoding & Routing:
    • Service registration
    • API key entry
  • Choose output type (track / route)
  • Confirm settings

Notes:

  • Indexing folders allow OkMap to automatically find maps and tracks
  • An API key is required to enable routing features
  • Settings can be changed at any time
