OkMap tutorial on indexing and searching GPS data files containing waypoints, tracks and routes.
In this video you will see how to create a file index, filter the list of indexed files, search for data by location or coordinates, and view the file bounds on the map.
The map indexing and search procedure is completely analogous and uses the same operating methods.

To better understand this tutorial, we recommend watching first:
Procedure:
- Index waypoint, track and route files
- Check the file folders defined in Preferences - GPX
- Choose the file types to index
- Start the indexing procedure
- Check the processing results
- View the list of indexed files
- Filter files by name
- Open an indexed file
- Search for files by location or coordinates
- Search for files based on the mouse coordinates on the map
- View the bounds of indexed files on the map
- View the labels of indexed files
- Open the file corresponding to the mouse position on the map
Tips:
- Configure the folders containing the files to index in Preferences - GPX
- Select only the file types required for indexing
- Use the filter to quickly locate a file in the list
- Use the location or coordinate search to find files related to a specific area
- View the bounds and labels of indexed files to quickly locate data on the map
- The same procedure can be used to search indexed maps

- Indexing creates an index of waypoint, track and route files in the configured folders
- You can select the file types to include in the index

- The labels associated with indexed files can be displayed

Common mistakes:
- Failing to correctly configure the file folders in Preferences - GPX
