In this video, you will learn how to use OkMap measurement tools to calculate distances along multi-point routes, measure areas on the map, display azimuth values, and check visibility between two terrain points.

• First Startup and Quick Setup
• Load a Web Map

Procedure:

• Select the Distance tool
• Define a route using multiple points on the map
• Display accumulated distance, cursor distance, and azimuth
• Add new segments to the route
• Check visibility between two points
• Clear distance lines
• Draw a compass on the map
• Remove the compass
• Use the freehand distance tool
• Select the Area tool
• Outline the area to be measured
• Calculate the surface area of the selected region

Tips:

• Use multiple points to accurately follow trails and roads
• Check visibility between two points before planning a route
• Use the compass to quickly visualize direction and orientation
• Use freehand measurement to follow irregular routes
• Always check the unit of measurement used for distances and areas

Notes:

• The Distance tool allows you to measure routes composed of multiple segments
• Azimuth is automatically calculated between the selected points
• Green sections of the line indicate areas visible from the previous point
• The Area tool automatically calculates the surface enclosed by the drawn polygon
• Measurements can be cleared at any time

Common Mistakes:

• Using too few points along curved routes
• Interpreting cursor distance as the total distance
• Forgetting to clear previous measurements before starting new ones
• Confusing visible and non-visible sections during visibility analysis
• Drawing an area that is not completely closed, resulting in inaccurate measurements
