Learn how to draw a working area on the map, configure the generation parameters, and automatically create optimized paths to cover the entire selected area.

The Lawn Mower pattern generates a track consisting of parallel passes, making it ideal for surveys, inspections, monitoring, and any activity that requires systematic coverage of an area.

The Grid pattern creates a regular grid of waypoints, useful for planning sampling points, periodic inspections, or other activities based on a uniform distribution of points across the area.

Procedure:

  • Draw a polygonal area on the map
  • Open the Track Generator function
  • Set the distance between passes
  • Generate a track using the Lawn Mower pattern
  • Draw a new area
  • Select the Grid pattern
  • Set the grid cell size
  • Generate a track using the Grid pattern
  • View the properties of the generated waypoints

Tips:

  • Draw an area that accurately represents the region to be covered
  • Use the Lawn Mower pattern for systematic inspections and surveys
  • Use the Grid pattern to create regularly spaced waypoint grids
  • Adjust the distance between passes according to the required coverage
  • Always review the generated track before exporting it or using it in the field

  • The Track Generator automatically creates routes within the selected area
  • Tracks can be generated using either the Lawn Mower or Grid pattern
  • Waypoints are created automatically during the generation process
  • Generated tracks can be edited, saved, and exported like any other OkMap track
  • All parameters can be modified and the track regenerated at any time

Common Mistakes:

  • Drawing an area that is too small or not representative
